Chakravyuh - Sapnon Ka Mayajaal ...

The title of this post is the name of the movie I saw very recently...for people living in the desolate city of Nagpur, it would be easier to understand..that it is the Hindi dubbed version of Christopher Nolan's mind boggling movie called 'Inception' . A brilliantly crafted and conceived movie which after the end does succeed in making you think twice about the subconscious. As much as i love watching English movies, I equally hate the idea of watching a dubbed version, but in just about two months have seen two of such...(because I really can't afford to spend 6000 odd bucks traveling to a Pune or Bombay to watch the English versions) ...the one earlier was Lohpurush-2... (Ironman-2)... funny as it may sound you should watch such movies after getting stoned...takes you into another trip altogether ... but you have to give it to the guys who come up with the dubbed names for these movies.. have seen a string of many now ... 'Ek Khiladi Ek Haseena' (Knight &

Howling with the Wolves in Nagpur

When my posting shifted from the up market Hyderabad to Nagpur, I was under the impression that there would be no traces of any night life or wild parties in this corner or if I may say center of India...I was pleasantly surprised when in the middle of September, we launched our new brand of premium vodka called 'Eristoff' ...Vodka from the land of the wolf. Fittingly we launched the brand with a party called "Wolf Night". The center of attraction for the party was the awesomely talented DJ Suketu (Of 'Bin Tere Sanam' Fame) . The venue chosen for the event was the resto pub '10, Downing Street'. With a backing up of a 2 week long outdoor publicity campaign and venue based promotions, we were all set. I was still skeptic if an event of this scale, not seen before in the city of Nagpur would get the right crowd. Would we succeed? Would it be a dud? On the eve of the party, we were still wondering if this risk we were taking would pay off...and 9:00 pm th

Do the new and the world will follow

Docomo .... Tata's new GSM mobile service is actually doing what it's preaching.... and has definitely shaken up the fastest growing Telecom market in the world. "Do the New" is what the ad says...Funny but when I saw the print ads first time, it looked like some cheap rip off of the "Do the Dew" tagline of Mountain Dew. That was the first day but then have no choice but to really give it to them for the brilliant carpet bombing technique they used. One just couldn't avoid them wherever one was or whoever one was...talk about outdoors or indoors.. papers.. hoardings ..TV ..ATL..BTL...TTL..they had everything...and are still at it. Coming out of a B-School ...and learning all the theories of marketing...The Docomo blitzkreig really wiped almost all of it out from my mind. In the kind of competitive markets with heavyweights like Airtel and Vodafone, The systematic way with which Docomo has worked its way in is a great example to learn from. It's a Go

India is known as the land of cultural diversity and the people we meet constantly reminds us of this fact. We are all proud of our traditions and the rich heritage that our country carries. I personally have experienced a nice variety in the last few years as I have moved across the country and seen the different shades of it. Many a times I had heard that Indians have a traditional or conservative mindset which is especially predominant in the Southern regions of India. I had a nice glimpse of the same during my summer project when I spent 2 weeks in Madurai, Chennai and Rameshwaram (This place has some really beautiful beaches) and also to some extent in Kerala. People of opposite sex hanging out together raises eyebrows and in some places if a guy goes to someone’s home, the women of the household stay hidden in a room and no contact of any sort is made. That’s all fine, I had heard about such stories, but there were some places that I never thought would exhibit such ‘conser

My first time

I have always had friends since school who were into playing music...Keyboards...guitars but invariably most of them played drums.. I was always in awe and wished I could be as good as them. I still wish I could but in the year 2008 I finally took my first step towards it and debuted on stage with an SP Jain version of Ali Haider's Purani Jeans for our senior's farewell. With me were my guru Yudi ..My roomie Mimo ...the lead guitarist Kundu..and Nilay the singer... Trust me when I say....there is no high comparable to the feel that the snare and crash give backed with the screams of hundreds of people . With all the great times I have had and the wonderful people I met in SP jain in my stay from 2007-2009 , some of the most memorable will be the ones behind those 6 awesome pieces of metal and music

I am a right brainer

So says the Ries and Ries test, and right brainers are supposed to be introverts but creative.... I do agree with the latter...am not too sure if I would call myself an introvert. Right brainers do not search for details in things but are mostly concerned with the larger picture...i wonder how i got through my MBA then :) But it does explain my bend towards the creative arts...Dancing..Drumming...Movie making and yeah Jazzing up presentations ..
